Country of Origin: Japan Location: Kanagawa Prefecture People: Mr. Mokichi Kumazawa, President | Mr. Tetsuro Igarashi, Master Brewer (Toji)
Tensei is made at the Kumazawa Shuzo Brewery which was founded in 1870. This is one of the most innovative, small-scale brewers in the Kanto region! At Kumazawa, they craft Tensei sake, Shonan beer, as well as have a bakery, a Japanese restaurant, an Italian restaurant and a gift shop on-site. Soon the Italian restaurant will be replaced by a local farmers market and moved to a new space.
The brewery is located in an obscure location, which is reached by a single-track railway line. On the property is a World War II bomb shelter; this bomb shelter is used to age the sake.
