Style: The practice of drinking vodka with mixers and ice is wholly western in origin. There is no cocktail culture in Eastern Europe. They drink their Vodka straight and therefore look for natural flavor and mouth feel from the raw vodka. It's with this in mind that the Medoyeff Vodka was created, the first Russian-American vodka.

Distillation: Like many of the greatest Russian vodkas, our vodka is made from 100% rye, and that rye character comes through in both the nose and palate. Just as important as the base grain is the way we filter Medoyeff vodka. Using what he learned from his visits to Russian and Ukrainian vodka distilleries years ago, our head distiller uses a combination of charcoal and limestone to slowly filtering every drop of Medoyeff. This process removes any impurities, while retaining the natural character of the spirit. In fact, the limestone actually imparts a subtle minerally character to the finish that adds to the overall taste and complexity of Medoyeff. The resulting spirit is so unmistakably Russian you're libel to shout "Na zdorovje" after just a sip.

Tasting Notes: Clear and viscous. Clean nose with hints of anise. Bright and bracing palate, slightly sweet, spicy grain, weighty. Enjoy straight, with a citrus twist (try grapefruit), in your favorite cocktail or paired with food.

"The nose on Medoyeff Vodka is very soft and slightly sweet with the slightest hint of grain. The entry has a nice subtle sweetness to it that opens to a much more pronounced spicy mid-palate. The flavor is expansive on the palate, present without being overbearing. The lightly spicy grain flavor continues through a nice long finish that finishes clean with some nice cooling at the end. There’s the slightest pin prick of heat towards the end of the mid palate which is nice and is representative of the Russian style but almost no heat or burn anywhere else, a clear indication of the very high quality of distillation and handling this spirit has had. Medoyeff Vodka delivers an extremely solid vodka experience. Its wonderful balance of clean, sweet and spice make it ideal for drinking straight (like a traditional Russian chill shot) or over ice with some soda. The Medoyeff Vodka really sings in a Moscow Mule where the sweetness of the entry and mid-palate spice go hand in hand with a premium ginger ale".
