2011 was a long, cool vintage in Sta. Rita Hills region, and the Brewer-Clifton Chardonnay reflects that as it pairs a dense core of citrus fruit with a persistent minerality. Sourced primarily from vineyards where Brewer-Clifton handles all the farming (3D Ranch, Gnesa, and Sweeney Canyon), this was barrel fermented in neutral French oak with no battonage or malolactic. A nose of citrus peel, kiwi, orange blossom, and sweet basil gives way to a palate of Meyer Lemon, white nectarine, hazelnut and river rock, with a long, mineral driven finish.
