About the Wine: Muti Albariño is made by Bodegas y Viñedos Raul Pérez, of the white wines that Raul makes, this has the most bright, electric acidity. The grapes that make Muti come from three different vineyards. The first vineyard is 100 years old, with granite soil, located in the town of Paliña, just 30 meters (100 feet) from the Atlantic Ocean. It’s so close to the ocean you can detect a mineral, salty aspect. The other vineyards have forty-year-old vines, located in the towns of Meaño and Dena. Raul wants Muti to show the youthful vibrancy of the Albariño grape. Half of the wine is aged in oak and the rest is aged in stainless steel. This results in a pure expression of Albariño without an undue influence of oak. Muti Albariño shows fresh, stone fruit aromas and almost searing, clean acidity and a strong mineral character that together are a perfect match for shellfish, seafood and lighter salads.
