Vintage Notes: Cool growing season, extended ripening period, very low yields Aging: 21 months in French oak, 40% new About Seven Hills Vineyard: Casey McClellan planted the first block of Merlot in the vineyard with his father. Casey still sources from the oldest blocks of the vineyard which has expanded to over 200 acres with the current owners (Casey's father sold the vineyard in 1994). Seven Hills Vineyard is one of the great vineyards of the U.S. Tasting Notes: Careful farming of these prized old vines at Seven Hills Vineyard gave us fully ripe and expressive grapes in this cool vintage. Enticing violet and rose aromas with clove and plum, hint at the fruitful, rich palate. Raspberry, backing spices and rhubarb cobbler flavors are accented by fresh, crushed herbs de Provence offering the elegant herbal component that is a vineyard hallmark we treasure in this Merlot.
