Corte Regia is the name that today identifies a range of
classic wines such as Barolo, Dolcetto, Barbera and
Moscato, that Gabriele Scaglione produces and vinifies
in a joint venture with a private grower, out of 12
hectares of private vineyards located in the areas of
Barolo, Monforte, La Morra, Grinzane Cavour and
Castiglione Falletto.
Barolo is the Italian wine of excellence. It is unique in its
great expression of vigorous harmony, unique for the
feelings that can evoke, unique for class and great
elegance.
Barolo is often called “a wine for intellectuals.” ‘Canaja’
is one you will take pleasure in pondering over.
Vineyard Sources: The grapes come exclusively from the finest vineyards of La Morra, Monforte d’Alba, and Castiglione Falletto
Vilification Notes: Maceration on the skins for about 30 days. After 6 days of maceration with pumping at least twice a day to improve the extraction of color and varietal aromas, the wine proceeds for about 20 days with submerged cap maceration. After malolactic fermentation, wine is passed to wooden Slovenian oak barrels for 24-30 months. Tasting Notes: Reflect
in the garnet red color with orange hues. The
bouquet is intense and very pleasing. Elegant. One
could easily get preoccupied purely inhaling this rich
Barolo. Put the glass to your lips, take a small sip: dry,
full, robust, exacting with a velvety mouthfeel. Pure
harmony.
Take your time with your dinner-stews, grilled veal
chops with porcini mushrooms, roasted lamb with
eggplant, raw meat with truffles as well as seasoned
chesses. Aim high and enjoy.
