Vintage Notes: A moderate fruit set in the spring led into a hot, dry summer with small, concentrated clusters. A long, cool fall allowed for good acid retention balancing bright fruit character.
Winemaking Notes: Wine is sourced from McClellan Estate, Summit View and Pleasant Vineyard. Slow, cool, temperature controlled fermentation, settling, and brief aging in stainless steel.
Tasting Notes: Bright and floral on the nose, with lilac, white peach, and red grapefruit aromas. Tastes brisk and refreshing with papaya, white peach, and citrus fruit leading to an extended, crisp finish with fresh herb and spice notes.
Winemaker's Notes: "Each year we designate specific vineyard blocks of Bordeaux varietals to go into our Rosé program. These blocks are then farmed only for Rosé and hand picked two to three weeks prior to our red wine harvest. The grapes are gently destemmed and pressed with no additional skin contact. The juice is settled, inoculated with a selection of aromatic yeast, and slowly fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel until dryness. Thereafter the wine rests sur lie until February bottling. In the tradition of the classic French Rosés, ours is delicate and refreshing, pale in color, and bone-dry. Primarily Cabernet Franc, with small amounts of Petit Verdot for additional structure and Malbec for expressive fruitfulness, this wine exhibits flavors of peach, grapefruit, and papaya along with fresh herbs, white flowers, and a hint of spice." - Casey McClellan
